Last week lots of early fog and one day very dense as seen in this photo. Newton Vineyard sits above Napa Valley in the hillls above St Helena. On this day the fog, well past sunrise, did not burn off but kept these vines cool well into the start of the day.

Some vineyards border on sacred with such hallowed ground or terroir and To Kalon is with the best. Yeah yeah on occasion I do cross myself when shooting here feeling blessed in life and to shoot in such beautiful places.

Last week there was so much shooting and editing that I was sharing little on the blog. When I shoot weddings or families I like getting the edit done as quickly as possible and getting their photos to them which is exactly what happened last week – wedding edit, family edit, lots of valley shooting but no time to edit vineyard images.
.
Today I’ll share a bit of the recent shoots starting with a photo of zinfandel leaves taken at Biale Vineyard and Winery. Their wine is so good I want to capitalize the word Zinfandel!

Yes that’s a dusting of snow on the ground and this was on Sunday morning in the Snowy Range Mountains of Wyoming. Yes it was cold with the blowing wind but, wow, check out that view!

Oh how it rained on Saturday in Saratoga Wyoming. But, rain and all, Katharine and Chris’s wedding was beautiful in every way. One shot to share for now – after the clearing of the storm and for just a few minutes they were alone on the golf course of Old Baldy.

High in the hills above Napa Valley and the town of St Helena is Newton Vineyard. Here a photo of sunrise taken this morning as the fog cleared from the valley.

Sunrise shooting was in Oakville shooting with some great clouds over the valley. To get this angle I was standing on the top of my car, using a tripod, cable release and, without movement, enjoying the quiet of the morning.
