Hans Fahden Winery was perfect for Jessica and Matt’s Friday evening wedding in Calistoga. It was a beautiful evening, a bit warm and bright, but we worked with the high contrast and shot private moments just after the ceremony ended.

Jessica and Matt were married Friday afternoon at Han Fahden Winery in Calistoga; it was a beautiful evening and a great wedding celebration. While the full edit of photos is not complete I wanted to share one shot – this was taken just after their ceremony when they were walking away to spend a few moments alone.

Early this morning traffic on Highway 29 headed Upvalley was very slow due to construction, so knowing I would not make it to my location in St. Helena by sunrise I, finally, made it past Yountville and to To Kalon vineyard. There I shot the vineyard and valley views and some Cabernet grapes.

Okay, not great light for this vineyard shoot as the clouds had vanished when it neared sunset time, but still it’s such a pretty location with the layers of mountains in the distance. Located off the Yountville Cross Road in the Oakville AVA.

Jackie and Zach were married Sunday and after their lovely ceremony we created photos at Stanford University where they met. The day was perfect and with such great weather it was fun to be at Stanford enjoying the afternoon temperatures, soft breeze and their shared joy of being together. Lucky me to photograph their bliss!

Beginning at 3 a.m. harvest of sauvignon blanc was yesterday morning. Here the bright lights illuminate the workers as they finish just before sunrise.

Sandy is a thearpy dog I met earlier this summer, a fine older dog who needed a portrait. With his age I need to check, it’s either 11 or 14, but in this photo he looks like a puppy again. “Good dog Sandy.”

Birthdays are always special and with mine on Monday I thought of all the vineyards I’m shooting where do I choose to shoot sunrise on my birthday? The answer was To Kalon in Oakville where the cabernet grapes are looking beautiful.
