Sunday we photographed a family in Sonoma and this is just one of the many many fun photos of the three generations.  There are many shots where they are laughing and having such a great time – the perfect family shoot.

Poppies are blooming everywhere right now, along roads, in fields, in gardens and where I run on the edges of vineyards.  Simply beautiful.

Last week I photographed the Deen brothers, Jamie and Bobby, as they were filmed grilling up some steaks at Beringer Winery in St. Helena.  The two are featured in the current Beringer Great Steak Challenge.  Details can be found on the Beringer website.  Yeah, win a trip to Napa Valley!

Sunrise yesterday was at Crystal Cove State Park in Newport Beach.  Beautiful and wild beach area that is so welcome in the busyness of Southern Cal.

Okay, not a lot of photojournalism here but a nice shot of Steve and Alison and their awesome dog near the vineyards and olive trees at Del Dotto Vineyards & Winery in St. Helena.  Good Dog!

Last Friday, a beautifully rainy day, was so very special for this lovely couple – Kyle and Lauren who got engaged at Domaine Carneros. In this photo Kyle slips the diamond on Lauren’s finger. I wish them all the best and hope all weekends and times are as memorable as their special weekend in Napa Valley.

Sunday I hiked with good friend Vickie V and her son, Cameron; we hiked to Cascade Falls in Marin.  Before we reached the falls we hiked to a bit of an overlook and had a picnic.  In this shot a mini nap for Cameron.

It was  a prefect day for a marathon and a beautiful day in Napa Valley.  Full field of runners in the 32nd annual race from Calistoga to Napa.  I shot around the 24 mile mark and here two female runners running strong and at 2 hours and 42 minutes into the race.

This week has been beautifully stormy with rains and clearing skies and more rain; the perfect winter week here in Napa Valley.

One morning I noticed clearing and layered clouds, so I grabbed cameras and headed to To Kalon Vineyard where I have been trying for a shot like this. Finally it came together.

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “There are days which occur in this climate, at almost any season of the year, wherein the world reaches it’s perfection, when the air, the heavenly bodies, and the earth make a harmony…” Today was one of those days, another of those days, when the air was cool and fresh, when the scent was of cool spring, blooming trees and mustard, and when the breeze feels of a changing season.
