With all the photography I do — events, landscapes, people within their environment, I still shoot families and it’s always fun. Rather quickly I’m wrapped into the family folds, creating images of the close connections. About ten days ago I photographed a family in Cheyenne — the whole group together and all the different groupings of kids, youngest around 2-years-old, and parents. Yes kids were off in many directions, including the lake where Andrew happily escaped his younger siblings. As usual, the best shots are when not expected or posed.
Okay, one more photo from Sunday’s family portrait shoot – here is the grandmother and granddaughter laughing together. Lots of fun and what’s great is there are so many great shots and memories from our time together.

I always tell people the more fun you have, the more you play, enjoy, laugh, love and share the better the photos. This is a perfect example of a family having a great time during their photo shoot. Terrific memories for a beautiful family.
Aloha from Hawaii! If I lived here I’m sure I would be a surfing shooter junkie – it’s amazing to shoot and watch the big waves and the surfers in the Pipeline. Equally amazing was watching the people who were watching the waves, most didn’t even speak, just stood and watched the power of the sets and sets of waves.

Here one shot of a surfer in the Pipeline.

Okay, so I’ve been shooting a lot, many cool, fun and love filled weddings, vineyard harvest and this afternoon engagement photos in San Francisco. Kricket and Mike are to be married next month in Capitola and today we shot near the location where they had their first date, the Delance Street Restaurant .

I have not done the full edit but just glanced at the downloaded gallery. This is one photo, outside the restaurant, that I grabbed to share. Fun couple!
Kids and photos – a magical time. Photographing children is, generally, a time when parents seek the nice family group photos and when I seek photos like this where when left to their playful, interesting selves children are real just being in the moment. Yes we get those nice family photos and often much more when moments like this happen and are captured. This little wedge of time of Yael’s life, quietly captured, printed and now always remembered.
.
Other frames in this sequence show that Yael is sitting on an old stump in a wooded park like area near her grandparents home here in Napa.
